Job description and Responsibilities:

This position is of a member in the Professional Services (PS) team. PS team is the production “special forces” unit in NRGene, which utilize NRGene’s genomic analysis tools and creativity to resolve significant challenges for our clients.

The main responsibilities for this position:

  • Employ NRGene’s technology to deliver high quality service & solutions to our growing global customer base.
  • Research new & existing technologies to enable better performance in existing and future projects.
  • Manage and coordinate technology-based projects end to end (R&D to Customer)


Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • PhD/MSc in Bioinformatics/computational biology
  • Experience with genomics analysis
  • Experience with NGS data analysis & denovo assembly
  • Fast learner, creative and able to work in a highly dynamic environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team player!
  • Experience in Unix environment

Senior Dev-Ops software developer position

Job description and Responsibilities:

  • As a senior member of the software team, your primary focus will be to build great stuff! And of course help others to do the same.
  • As an integral and central player in our software development team, you’ll be expected to take part in all key design discussions pertaining to the basic aspects of our products: choice of frameworks, hardware, tooling, cost analysis, risk analysis, security, cloud orchestration and site reliability.
  • As such, you’ll be expected both to contribute to and learn from other engineers of the software team – our software engineers are open, self-motivated and enjoy learning and teaching new stuff to others.
  • We encourage the use of and contribution to open-source projects: if you’ve done so in the past or are doing so in the present – we’d gladly like to take a look, and if relevant, further support it.


Professional Requirements:

  • BSc in CS or equivalent – we require all software engineers to possess solid understanding of basic CS: algorithms, OOP, architecture.
  • 4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience. Fluent in both reading and writing code – in several languages and technologies (scripting, system, managed).
  • Understanding of modern deployment and orchestration frameworks (Kubernetes / Mesos / Docker), experience and knowledge of cloud computing (AWS in particular).
  • Experience with Hadoop / Spark – an advantage.
  • Excellent coding skills, with an appreciation for elegant and clean code.
  • Good understanding of modern hardware, Linux, the JVM, networking and storage.
  • Experience in designing and architecting distributed systems (SOA, micro-services, domain-driven design) – an advantage.
  • Knowledge of and appreciation for testing – a must.
  • Understanding of monitoring needs, site reliability, high availability etc.
  • Keen interest in biology, genomics, bioinformatics and the various computational challenges they pose – an advantage.

  • Developing NRGene’s core bioinformatic infrastructure, from initial design all the way to productization. This includes choice of technologies and methodologies, cost and risk analysis, architectural design, devising and execution of work-plans and implementation – all the way down to the “gory details” needed to build and run a modern, high-quality, high-throughput service in production.
  • Collaborating closely with computational biologists, with other software engineers, and with IT specialists – to quickly and efficiently bring-to-market products in genomics analysis.

Professional Requirements:

  • BSc or MSc in CS / Math – a must.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in software development.
  • Strong algorithmic capabilities.
  • Experience with distributed computation – a must (experience with Apache Spark – an advantage).
  • Fluency in Java and Scala.
  • An understanding and appreciation of OO fundamentals, functional programming paradigms, principles of clean-code, and general craftsmanship in developing software.

North America Sales Manager

Job description and responsibilities:

The position will be responsible for managing existing accounts and forging new ones, including lead identification, establishing first contact, preparing quotes and legal agreements and closing deals. The position will work with a growing team based in our St. Louis, MO office as well as with our established Israeli sales group. Travel throughout North America is a key component of the role for meeting with potential clients, following up with customers, and attending key conferences.

 

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • At least two years of experience in a similar role
